OTFA Competition Programme 2021

1. Sunday 30th May - Swannay - Highland Park Trophy for the Heaviest Basket and the Gordon Grant Memorial Trophy for Heaviest Fish - 10.00am – 4.00pm
Weigh in 4.00pm – 4.45pm at Site Hut

2. Sunday 6th June - Boardhouse – Willie Windwick Cup – 10.00am – 4.00pm
Weigh in 4.00pm – 4.45pm at Site Hut

3. Saturday 19th June - Boardhouse – Midnight Cup – 7.00pm – 12 midnight
Weigh in midnight – 00.45 at the Site Hut.

4. Sunday 27th June - Swannay – Eunson Cup - 10.00am – 4.00pm
Weigh in 4.00pm – 4.45pm at Site Hut

5. Saturday 3rd July - Harray – Tommy Thomson Trophy – 9.00am –3.00pm
Weigh in 3.00pm – 4.00pm at Site Hut (11 inch limit)

6. Thursday 22nd July - Harray – Walter Leask Cup - 6.00pm – 10.00pm
Weigh in 10.00pm – 11.00pm at Site Hut (11 inch limit)

7. Wednesday 28th July- Boardhouse – Smithfield Shield – 6.00pm – 10.00pm
Weigh in 10.00pm – 10.45pm at Site Hut

8. Tuesday 3rd August - Harray – W S Sinclair Cup - 6.00pm – 10.00pm
Weigh in 10.00pm – 11.00pm at Site Hut (11 inch limit)

9. Saturday 14th   August - Harray – Merkister Cup - 10.00am – 4.00pm
Weigh in 4.00pm – 5.00 pm at Site Hut (11 inch limit)

10. Saturday 28th August - Any Loch – Alan Findlay Cup. Anglers have the choice of Harray, Boardhouse, Stenness, Swannay or Hundland 10.00am – 4.00pm. Weigh in 4.00pm – 5.00pm at the Harray site hut. (10 inch limit all lochs other than Harray where an 11 inch will apply)

Cancelled Competitions:-  Excluding the Any Loch competition, In the event of any fly competition having to be cancelled it will not be rescheduled.

Special Competition arrangements for the 2021 season due to COVID

OTFA Competitions 2021 COVID Rules

Arrival – participants to remain socially distanced (2m) before and after the competition.


Weigh-in  Anglers are to line up keeping socially distanced (2m) for the weigh-in.

Weigh in will take place inside the site hut. Anglers are to drop off their basin at the site door and then to step back. The designated trout measurer will check all trout and then hand over to the weigher & recorder.

Weighed trout to then be placed back into the basin for the angler to pick up at the door once the measurer has removed themselves.

Volunteers assisting with the weigh-in to wear face masks and disposable gloves.

Post weigh-in Scales are to be wiped down and table cleaned by weigh-in volunteers. Gloves and wipes to be placed in the bins.

Results – Anglers are to remain socially distanced while waiting for the results.

Trophy – These will be awarded at a later stage when safe to do so.

Competitor list – We will have a list of those taking part in the competition after the weigh-in

Format

We will fish 10 fly competitions as per the programme above
Competitors’ best 8 competitions will count towards team etc selection for 2022 events (SANACC, Inter-county and Anglian)

Anglers who qualified for team etc selection in 2019 will be eligible to compete in relevant events this season 2021 (Inter-county, Anglian)
Anglers, if eligible, may enter this season’s SANACC National but at their own cost.
